Christiana was diagnosed with Arthritis when she was 7 years old and Juvenile Dermatomyositis when she was 10 years old. JDM is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack itself, resulting in muscle inflammation and weakness. Complications from the disease continued to arise until her body was too weak to handle it. By November, she was confined to a wheelchair and her hospital bed at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Yet she continued to inspire others with her faith, smile and positive attitude. On December 14, 2005, Christiana passed went to be with our Lord in Heaven.
