The Amgen California Coast Classic Bike Tour offers two tour packages to all registered riders. A 6-day, 355-mile ride from San Francisco to Solvang, or if you really want to go the distance, an 8-day 525-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Whether you choose tour package one or two, both rides have something to offer the beginner as well as the experienced cyclist.
We provide participants with a carefully designed route featuring scenic stops along the way, hearty dinners every day, hot showers, and massage services. Technical support and rider relief vans ensure a fun ride for everyone, including a lift for the tired cyclist.
Additional support provided for each rider includes:
- A detailed handbook for riders (full of recommendations for clothing and equipment).
- Rest stops every day allow you to take in the scenery and enjoy camaraderie with other riders.
- Commemorative jersey, windbreaker, and t-shirt awarded to each rider.
- Scheduled fundraising clinics, handbooks, and online fundraising tools are available to provide both the training and tools needed to meet fundraising goals.
- Local training opportunities and detailed recommended training guide available.
- Fabulous prizes awarded to the top fundraisers.

DAY ONE: Saturday, October 3 San Francisco to Santa Cruz READY...SET...PEDAL! All Cyclists begin in San Francisco and cycle down the coast into Santa Cruz, completing a total of 85 miles. | 10/3/2009 | DAY TWO: Sunday, October 4 Santa Cruz to Monterey This leg of the tour measures 53 miles and takes you through the dramatic landscape of the California countryside before resting for the night in picturesque Monterey. | 10/4/2009 | DAY THREE: Monday, October 5 Monterey to Big Sur Say goodbye to Monterey and head south. A short 40 miles will bring you into the spectacular landscape of Big Sur. | 10/5/2009 | DAY FOUR: Tuesday, October 6 Big Sur to San Simeon As you wind your way through the scented forests of Big Sur, you will continue into San Simeon after enjoying a brief rest stop in the locale of the world-renowned Hearst Castle. At this point, you've cycled a total of 66 miles! | 10/6/2009 | DAY FIVE: Wednesday, October 7 San Simeon to Pismo Beach Absolutely beautiful. If the pedaling doesn't take your breath away, the scenery will! A mere 60 miles, this leg of the tour will allow you to soak up your surroundings as you cycle along world famous beaches. | 10/7/2009 | DAY SIX: Thursday, October 8 Pismo Beach to Solvang If you're riding package one, this 60 mile leg will complete your Amgen CCF Bike Tour. Enjoy the breathtaking views as you cross the finish line into Solvang. If you're riding package two, stop in Solvang and re-group. | 10/8/2009 | DAY SEVEN: Friday, October 9 Solvang to Ventura You're almost there! Be sure to explore the Danish-flavored town of Solvang as you make your way toward the day-end destination of Ventura. Today's total mileage is an impressive 85 miles. Great riding! | 10/9/2009 | DAY EIGHT: Saturday, October 10 Ventura to Los Angeles Congratulations! After the final 60 miles, you cross the finish line in Los Angeles to fanfare and an emotional welcome.
